Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Challenges & Risks

  1. Orphans and children at risk struggle with their senses of identity and self-confidence. In addition they are without skills that would make them competitive in the job market. As a result, they often can’t provide for themselves upon graduation, which leads to lives of poverty and crime.
  2. Ministries lack innovative tools to capture the interest of older orphans and adolescents at risk. As a result ministries are small and limited to younger children.

Radobot as a Solution

  1. Radooga’s strength is using technology to reach the younger generation. We have extensive experience and have been developing a network of partners around Ukraine since 1994.
  2. Ukraine’s IT industry is the fastest-growing sector of the economy. Forty-thousand IT positions remain unfilled because Ukraine’s education system does not churn out enough graduates to meet demand.
  3. Radooga wants to work with partners to provide high tech skills to give orphans and children at risk a competitive advantage upon graduation.

Projected Impact

  1. Students will graduate with a reinforced sense of identity, increased self-confidence, and highly sought-after tech skills. As a result, they will be able to find good jobs and be able to support families.
  2. Orphans and children at risk are guaranteed high-paying jobs in the IT industry. Starting positions pay $900/month vs. the $300/month they can make working as a cashier.

Two Parts of the Radobot Project

Radobot Clubs

  • Radobot Club is a weekly, year-round training for 144 orphans and children at risk.
  • There will be 3 groups of 16 orphans at 3 sites, once a week. Each class will last 1.5 hours.
  • Children will learn: robot building, coding, and teamwork.
  • Clubs will strengthen their confidence and self-esteem. Teachers will build relationships and share the Gospel with the students.

Radobot Camps

  • Radooga Radobot Camp is a week-long summer day-camp for orphans and children at risk.
  • There will be 3 groups of 16 orphans at 3 sites during 5 consecutive days. Each class will last 1.5 hours.
  • These camps will allow Radooga to reach the hearts of students by running an innovative program based on Robotics, programming, and the Gospel.
